THE GIANT OF THE SEAS
The development of Omer 7 began during the fall of 2007 with the study of different concepts. Following this exhaustive work where several possibilities were considered, the team decided to embark on the manufacture of a second submarine without propeller, but this time two-seater.
The team was looking to get on the record board in the only category the club had yet to compete in. The concept of oscillating wings from top to bottom which gave exceptional results for Omer 6 is thus recovered. On the other hand, there is high-level work carried out by all the members of the club, many of whom were graduates at the time, in order to optimize all the components manufactured and used in this submarine using several computer tools. state-of-the-art including finite element analysis.
CONVINCING RESULTS
Omer 7 experienced its water baptism during the tenth International Submarine Race in Bethesda, Maryland. The efforts were rewarded with a very enviable speed record of 5,133 knots (9.51 km/h) and the first prize for innovation.
